Strumstick

SAI-08

The smallest and most easy to learn Guitar. Also called Ukalinga. You do not need any complicated grip techniques or notes. The easiest way to play is to strike the lower string and pluck the accompanied upper strings (bordun). This plucked instrument is similar to a Turkish Saz or dulcimer. It is easy to play and allows both novice and experienced player to enjoy these kind of instruments. This is a perfect small-sized, light weight instrument for traveling; being on the beach, in the mountains and even when you’re in a traffic jam.

The fingerboard has a diatonic scale which enables you to play easy melodies and to improvise because there are no wrong combinations. The professional will enjoy the sound and possibilities as well with our Strumstick with a chromatic scale. The strumstick can be changed from the basic tune in major (G,d,g), to a minor-tune (G,d,f), which resembles the tunes used in gypsy songs, or to a more exotic tune (Gis,cis,e).
