Glockenspiel
These Glockenspiele from AURIS consist of a curved bas of maple wood and high quality brass bars, that are tuned precisely. They have a lovely bell-like and long-lasting sound. All instruments incl. mallets, packed in a single box.
The Glockenspiel exists in many different forms around the globe and belongs to the family of the Idiophones. Many of them can be found in Southeast Asia, for example the "Gender" from Bali. A relative of the Lithophon, the stone xylophon, from the Stone Age was found in Vietnam. The musicians in Togo took flat stones of different sizes as sound bars and used smaller stones as beaters.

In our music class completion round a 5th grade student said the following about the Glockenspiel: “I chose this instrument because it always sounds so light and gentle. All melodies work and I cannot do anything wrong. This is what I like about the instrument.” Worlfram Spiegel, Teacher, Hanover | ![]() |
