Buzzing Bow
This is an adaption of the Australian buzzing wood. This bow is made out of a long piece of beech wood with two side bars to the right and left which hold the rubber band. If you turn the Buzzing bow with the turning handle, the bow is ejected into the air and the rubber bands start to vibrate, creating a buzzing sound. You can modify the pitch an octave by loosening or tightening the rubberband.
You can rhythmically beat the buzzing bow up and down through the air and it starts to buzz. If you have two you can create a rhythmic pattern and responses. 2 x 2 pieces of different replacement rubber bands.

Australian or African buzzing woods are symbolically used to call the ancient ones. Their sound reflects the voices of the old ones and the contact to the collective unconsciousness of a tribe or a people. The buzzing bow with its similar construction and effects offers a larger variety of sounds, effects and ways to play it. The sounds of the buzzing bow grabs the attention of the listeners immediately. Often the effects of the sound are described in archaic pictures, for example swarms of insects or pictures of the creation of earth. The different voices of the rubber bands and different ways of playing (dynamic or meditative) allow the creating of different atmospheres.
