About Us
Welcome to the 8th edition of Boehme Music’s color catalog. The number eight has great significance in the world of music (and in our catalog). The eight tone is the octave, which is the doubling of the frequency of a tone. The eight placed horizontally becomes the sign for infinity and also is the graphic curve of the resonance of a string. The structure of the octagon is found in old churches and is responsible for good acoustics. In this catalog, we present eight chapters with interesting instruments and useful accessories. Boehme Music includes eight different brands: our own products under the name Boing and Feeltone, and Pilaou and Tingsha with specially selected imported instruments. In addition, we represent Auris, Remo and Peter Hess products.
Sound has been my profession for 24 years. My own joy and excitement about new sounds inspires me to create new instruments. The worldwide interest in them confirms a universal and growing need for more creativity, intuition and healing through interactive music. Over the last several years my interests have been focused on exploring the sound spaces and effects within my sound furnitures. Each material has its own laws, and to explore or unleash them is a special challenge. If you buy our instruments, you also support our extensive development effort, and you contribute to the promising research involving musical instruments for the health sector.
The primary focus of the instruments in this catalogue is to make access to our own musical creativity as easy as possible. If we allow ourselves to produce tones and if fascination about the process has won over our initial timidity, we are opening new worlds for ourselves. If you read the feedback from our customers here in our catalogue, you will see how wide the reach of our instruments is into the sphere of human activity. The feedback is from people all over the world who have used our instruments in different environments and for different needs. I would like to thank all of you who provided input. I invite you to enjoy the discoveries our catalog has to offer. I hope you soon will hold your own instrument in your hands and experience the joy of music.
What ears are able to do.
Our ears are not only responsible for communication, voice, language, memory and hearing but are also important for our equilibrium, the coordination of our movements, and our upright posture. „15 years ago, we were able to discern between 300,000 sounds and today it is only 180,000, as we live in a permanent bath of noise, music, and pictures.“ From the German magazine Stern Magazine Heft 16/2005 Editorial.
The research and images about sound and water from Masaru Emoto and the water sound pictures from A. Lauterwasser show explicitly how sound affects water. The human body is two-thirds water and the brain is 90% aqueous, so the possibilities to affect us in those ways with sound are endless. If you play our water fountain bowl ( page 43), you can see the effects that sound has on a surface of water.
Sound is integral to our lives. Sound supports our motor abilities, can create self-confidence, helps to loosen blockages and reduce stress, and supports the self-healing and rehabilitation process after operations. Sound can be used preventively to strengthen the immune system and psyche. Sound is an ancient way of communication and can support our spirituality.
